On September 16, 2024, during an event held in Nicosia Municipality, the Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeadis, awarded the Mayor of Nicosia the European Mobility Week 2023 prize for the best organization of events on the theme "Save Energy." Nicosia Municipality was also the only municipality in Cyprus to compete for the corresponding European Award in 2023, where it achieved an honorable 5th place for Cyprus in the evaluation of participants.
